INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Beauty Schools of America wants to thank you for your interest in our school and programs.

As an International Student at Beauty Schools of America you will receive a comprehensive orientation so your stay in the United States is a pleasant one. Our International Student Department will guide you from the application process to your graduation day. Our faculty and staff are committed to supporting you in making your dreams come true.

International students must meet the school’s general admissions policy.

General Admissions Policy:
  1. Prospective students must be at least 16 years old
  2. Prospect students who are interested in signing up for any of the programs listed below, must be high school graduates and must provide high school diploma or academic transcripts as evidence of high school completion.
International prospects that are currently in the United States as tourists who would like to apply for a change of status must follow these steps:

Step 1: Visit our International Student Department to obtain the requirements needed to apply for the I-20 form, which can be downloaded here, Certificate of Eligibility.

Step 2: Applicants must file form I-539: Application To Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status, which can be downloaded here, pay the proper fee and follow all instructions on the form. View the instructions for the I-539 by clicking here.

Step 3: File form I-901, which can be downloaded here, pay the proper fee and follow all instructions on the form.

Step 4: The U. S. Immigration and Customs and Enforcement (ICE) Department suggests that a change of status to M1 (student visa) is requested 30 days before the current visa expires.

Step 5: Our Designated School Official (DSO) at Beauty Schools of America will give you an appointment to review all the documentation and will provide you with the guidance you need to complete and send these forms to the proper address.

Step 6: It is highly recommended that all applicants are attentive to any correspondence received from U. S. Immigration and Customs and Enforcement (ICE) Web Site or the Student and Exchange Visitor Program Department (SEVIS); SEVIS WEB SITE read the communication right away and take it to your DSO as soon as possible. Once the M1 (student visa) is approved you need to make an appointment with your DSO no later than 20 days from the approval date written on the letter; you must start school within 30 days from the approval date on the letter; the admission process could take a few days.
